British Nationality Law. Our lawyers have many years experience dealing with all aspects of British nationality law. In addition to the requirements regarding residence in the U.K, good character and knowledge and understanding of English, applicants are now also required to undertake a test of their knowledge of life in the U.K. We frequently deal with initial applications for naturalisation based on five years lawful residence or three years lawful residence and marriage to a British citizen. We also deal with applications to register children as British citizens. Sometimes the cases we handle are extremely complex and we have experience of assisting clients whose application has been refused or where there are other complications relating to their nationality application. Given the high cost of applying for British nationality, the length of time that applications take and the consequences of making mistakes we always advise clients to seek advice early on in the process.

We offer the following services to clients regarding British nationality law;
  1. One off consultation regarding the requirements of naturalisation or registration as a British citizen or regarding any other matter of nationality law.
  2. Full evaluation of your prospects of succeeding with your application. This includes a detailed analysis of your supporting evidence and a full written report covering all aspects of the rules and application process.
  3. Full service including submitting the application to the Home Office. This includes 2 above and additionally includes assisting with completion of the application form and submitting a detailed covering letter in support of the application.
  4. Requesting a review if an application has been wrongly refused.
Please telephone or e-mail one of the Partners if you would like our advice or assistance with an application
