Case Resolution Programme

LHLEGAL FACEBOOK

The Case Resolution Programme (Previously Known As The Legacy Casework Programme). The Case Resolution Programme was announced in July 2006 with a five year timetable for resolution of all unresolved asylum cases which include case where an asylum claim has been made and, as yet, the application has not been concluded either because of errors in recording information or because there is still some action needed to be taken on it. The programme generally relates to cases refused before March 2007. The programme is not an amnesty.

The Case Resolution Programme can lead to the grant of status to an individual or to a refusal of leave to remain and removal from the U.K . The majority of individuals should receive a questionnaire in order that the Home Office can decide the application with the most up to date information. However, not everybody will receive a questionnaire and some individuals may only be invited to make representations once they have been detained and the Home Office have initiated steps to remove them from the U.K.

We strongly advise individuals who may be affected by the Case Resolution Programme to seek legal advice as soon as possible.

If you would like our advice or assistance please e-mail or telephone one of the Partners.
